Mark Pluta and I had a couple of nice flights while the others were in New Mexico.
On 10/5 we flew from Pulvers land and chased each other through the sky. We ended up landing within 50 yards of each other in a very nice field where we were greeted by the landowners. After the flight we all went to our after flight party spot where we broke out the grill and had our Black Sheep "Man Samiches" for everyone.
The next weekend Mark and I flew again on 10/12 from another great landowners place. We took off in light fog and ended up flying to 4500' agl! The flight was amazing and I landed Carried Away in a very nice bacytard where the old gentleman exclaimed that it was the most excitement he had seen in 32 years there!
We were not able to meet up with Mark and his crew after to party as they were a bit behind us, but our group enjoyed some bagels and cream cheese and we had Amanda home from college for the weekend to take part in crewing.
Amanda had a tattoo of a hot air balloon put onto her left shoulder the week before she came home. Although she does not care to fly she loves crewing whenever she gets the chance. I am so happy that she loves ballooning because when we first got into it she did not even care that we did it.
I want to thank Bob and Nancy Avon as well as Andrew's girlfriend, Jes Monroe for being a part of the Carried Away Balloon Team while Andrew was away. Ellen and I love you guys!
